1. Obtain the complete model number and serial number of the excavator.
2. Count the number of top rollers and bottom rollers. Obtain the bottom roller bolt hole diameter, if possible.
3. Count the number of sprocket teeth and sprocket bolt holes. Obtain the bolt hole diameter, if possible.
4. Measure and estimate the original track chain pitch and count the number of links.
5. Measure and estimate the original pin diameter and bushing diameter.
6. Obtain any identifying mark from track links, such as manufacturer and part number.
7. Measure the track shoe width and the bolt hole pattern.
